The Breeders Crown was held at the Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono on October 9, 2010, the first time ever the track hosted the stellar racing event. It was also the first time in Breeders Crown history that all 12 events were held at a track on one card. All 12 races produced new stakes records for a five-eighths mile track.
Some of the highlights include Break The Bank K with a 1:52.2 World Record performance in the $500,000 Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Colt Trot. Brian Sears did the driving for trainer Trond Smedshammer and owner-breeder Robert Key of Leechburg, Pennsylvania.
It was win number 13 for the undefeated See You At Peelers the $600,000 Breeders Crown Two-Year-Old Filly Pace in 1:52.1; she was trained by Jimmy Takter and driven by Jim Morrill Jr.
Won The West successfully defended his title in the $500,000 Breeders Crown Open Pace with a tremendous 1:49 win for driver David Miller and trainer Ron Burke.
But it was all Little Brown Jug winner Rock N Roll Heaven in the $500,000 Breeders Crown Three-Year-Old Colt Pace, and his dominant win in 1:49 brought the cheering track crowd to their feet. Track Announcer Jim Beviglia’s race call was memorable as his voice cracked with emotion calling the race. “Three quarters 1:19.4. 26.2. Are you kidding me here? At the top of the stretch Rock N Roll Heaven is extending his lead. He’s unstoppable! He’s untouchable! He’s unbeatable tonight!” Daniel Dube was winning driver for trainer Bruce Saunders....
