Enticed, a multiple graded stakes winning son of leading sire Medaglia d’Oro out of the feisty millionaire, It’s Tricky by Mineshaft, relocated to Rich Miller’s Mountain Springs Farm in Palmyra, PA. The Godolphin bred and raced stallion won first time out at Saratoga, and was a top class horse on the dirt at two and three with victories in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes at Churchill at two and the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct at three. He was third in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at two, and in seven starts, he earned over $595,000 with three wins, one second, and one third.

Enticed brings stellar bloodlines to Pennsylvania breeders. He is by top stallion, Medaglia d’Oro who is the leading North American sire by worldwide stakes winners, and he is out of the brilliant race mare It’s Tricky. Like her name, It’s Tricky was tricky to saddle and manage, but she won three Grade 1 races during her career. In fourteen starts, she had eight wins, four seconds, and one third, and won $1,666,500. She won the Grade 1 Acorn Stakes, the Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks, and the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps Handicap, and she was second in the Grade 1 Alabama Stakes, and the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic.

“With several stallions retired in Pennsylvania and several relocating, I thought this would be a great opportunity for Pennsylvania breeders to breed to a young stallion from a top class family,” explained Ralph Santella, partner in the Enticed syndicate. “He’s nine years old, and he is a big, good-looking stallion, and I was impressed with the babies that I saw at the sales. We have such a great breeders’ program in Pennsylvania that I wanted to support, so I started looking around for stallions, and I was excited when I heard that Enticed might be available. I also promised to retire him to a good home like Old Friends or something similar when his breeding career is over,” said Santella.

Enticed entered stud in 2020, and this year, 2024, he is ranked number 7 in 2nd crop sires by progeny earnings. His winners earned over $2.6 million, and they include, Visually, winner of the Grade 3 Senorita Stakes at Santa Anita, Tambo, Grade 3 placed in the Santa Ynez Stakes at Santa Anita, and stakes winners Under the Palms, and Shimmering Allure. This past week, since October 21, Enticed had two winners, Patty Brown Eyes, a maiden special weight winner at Parx, and Goodnightgodbless, an allowance winner at Finger Lakes.

“Enticed stood at Darley’s Jonabell Farm in Kentucky for $5,000, and we’re going to keep the stud fee at $5,000 live foal for 2025. He’ll be standing at Mountain Springs Farm in Palmyra, which is about five miles from Penn National Race Track,” said Santella. “His bloodlines are fantastic, and he should produce runners for the dirt and the turf here in Pennsylvania.”

Enticed joins the leading Pennsylvania stallions, Uptowncharlybrown and Eastwood at Rich Miller’s Mountain Springs Farm. “I think Enticed has a great future here in Pennsylvania. He has everything  breeders are looking for. He was a talented race horse, he has a good temperament, great pedigree, and good conformation. We are looking forward to his first crop of Pennsylvania breds. For information about breeding to Enticed, people can call me, Ralph Santella, at 917-232-4552,” Santella said.
