Multiple grade 1-placed, multiple grade 2 winner Somelikeithotbrown  will enter stud at Cabin Creek Farm near Gettysburg, Pa., the farm announced Nov. 22. A stud fee has not been set yet.

The 7-year-old son of dual American classic winner Big Brown   raced for six seasons from 2 to 7, compiling a 10-8-4 record from 33 starts and earning $1,712,893.

Bred in New York by Hot Pink Stables and Sand Dollar Stables, Somelikeithotbrown was campaigned by Dr. Harvey Diamond’s Skychai Racing and David Koenig’s Sand Dollar Stables with trainer Mike Maker. He became a winner in his second career start and immediately showed he belonged in stakes company with three consecutive graded stakes placings in his next three starts, which included a third in the 2018 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1T).

He went on to win eight stakes, four of them graded stakes. His best performances came in the 2020 Bernard Baruch Handicap (G2T), 2021 Dinner Party Stakes (G2T), 2019 Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3), and 2022 Mint Million Stakes (G3T). He won one stakes on Aqueduct Racetrack‘s main track in the 2022 West Point Stakes. Alongside his stakes wins were 12 stakes-placed performances that included a third in the 2021 Keeneland Turf Mile Stakes (G1T).

Big Brown is a top 10 sire in New York for 2023 and the state’s second-leading active sire by number of black-type winners with 29 and by career progeny earnings at more than $36.2 million. The son of Boundary made his mark on the track by winning the Kentucky Derby (G1), Preakness Stakes (G1), Florida Derby (G1) and Haskell Invitational Stakes (G1).

Somelikeithotbrown is out of the Tapit  daughter Marilyn Monroan, who has also produced New York Stallion Series Stakes winner Jolting Joe (Mission Impazible ). The dam is out of the Belong to Me winner Summer Scene, who is a half sister to 2005 champion 2-year-old colt and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) winner Stevie Wonderboy (Stephen Got Even) and multiple grade 1-placed, grade 3 winner Theyskens’ Theory.

Cabin Creek also stands Red Vine , a multiple grade 1-placed stakes winner by Candy Ride (ARG).
