Robert Donaldson’s Spun to Run (Hard Spun), upset winner of the Nov. 2 GI Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, remains on target for a start in the Dec. 7 GI Cigar Mile at Aqueduct.

“We’ve been watching his training,” conditioner Juan Carlos Guererro said. “He’s come back well from the Breeders’ Cup and recouped quickly, so it looks like we’re going there.”

Spun to Run became Guererro’s first graded stakes winner when he captured the GIII Smarty Jones S. in September.

“I’ve been working with horses for a long time and it’s been a dream come true,” Guererro said. “He’s just been a dream. Right now, he’s been easy to train. We’ve developed a good training program for him. It seems the more you give him, the more he wants.”

On the board in nine of 11 starts to date, Spun to Run has won five times and earned $1,010,520. In addition to his Breeders’ Cup win, he was third in the GI TVG.com Haskell Invitational in July.
