WASHINGTON, PA, July 9, 2023 — Geocentric (Sweet Lou-Geometry) poured through the Lightning Lane to score in a stake-fastest 1:52 in her harness racing career debut in Saturday’s $166,058 Pennsylvania Sires Stake for freshman filly pacers at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
The event, known as the Sand Tart, was contested over three divisions, with Asweetbeachhere and Lyons Legend taking the other splits. The Tetrick brothers, Tim (Geocentric, Lyons Legend) and Trace (Asweetbeachhere), enjoyed a sweep.
After claiming the early lead from post 5, Geocentric released the ambitious Chiapanecas and settled into the pocket. The filly roared through the Lightning Lane, throwing down a 27.2 final panel en route to victory. Brian Brown trains Geocentric for Milton Leeman, Alan Keith, James Stambaugh and Joe Sbrocco.
Lyons Legend (Stay Hungry-Skinny Dip), who captured her career debut at Freehold, clicked off an even faster fourth quarter, using that 26.4 burst to triumph in 1:52.1. Jim King, Jr. conditions the filly for Threelyonsracing.
Asweetbeachhere (Sweet Lou-Some Fancy Filly) converted a pocket trip to victory in 1:53.1 for trainer Erv Miller and owner Douglas Overhiser. MY Girl EJ was second, 3/4 lengths back, with Monsoon third.
Gingertree Cairlin (Betting Line-Magic Starlight) was the most visually impressive winner in Saturday’s sub-feature, overwhelming the field by 7-3/4 lengths to prevail in 1:54.4 for Aaron Merriman after an off-the-board finish in her career debut. Sam Beegle trains the filly and owns with Ginger Tree Ventures, Knollville Stable 2 and Reeber and B Stable. Shop Micki and X O rounded out the ticket.
The other splits went to Every Mans Dream, Stay Sunny and Flamboyance.
Live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday, first post 12:45 PM.
