Juvenile Stakes Highlight Thanksgiving Eve Racing at Parx and Penn National — The Pennsylvania Horse Racing Association

Post time for the Parx Thanksgiving Eve Racing Festival is 12:05 P.M. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. The card features five stakes including the Pennsylvania Nursery Stakes and the Shamrock Rose Stakes for two year old registered Pennsylvania bred horses.

At a distance of six furlongs, the Pennsylvania Nursery Stakes drew a field of eight PA bred two year olds competing for the $100,000 purse. Entries include several maidens and three trained by Butch Reid. Connor’s Law, trained by Reid, is a maiden, and Mailata, also trained by Reid, won a maiden special weight at Parx. Reid’s other entry, Flyin Hawaiian won a maiden special weight at Parx and ran in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga where he finished seventh. Smoked Bourbon, trained by Kate DeMasi, won his only start handily in a maiden special weight at Parx by three and a quarter lengths. Post time for the Nursery is 2:20 P.M.

Shamrock Rose: Crown Royal Babe

With a purse of $100,000, the Shamrock Rose Stakes, going six furlongs for two year old PA bred fillies, drew a field of eleven. Entries include fillies by Pennsylvania stallions Smarty Jones and Uptowncharlybrown. Trainer John Servis entered two fillies, Coppedge and Bounce. “Both horses are doing great,” said Servis. Both have one win with Coppedge winning a maiden special weight at Parx, and Bounce winning a maiden special in Indiana. Bounce led the way and won wire to wire, but there were only three horses in the race. By Uptowncharlybrown, Crown Royal Babe won one race and finished third in two starts. Post time for the Shamrock Rose is 3:41 P.M.

Other stakes on the card include the Cornucopia Stakes. The Turkey Trot Stakes, and the Let’s Give Thanks Stakes. The $75,000 Cornucopia Stakes drew a field of ten fillies and mares for the six and a half furlong race. Post time is 2:47 P.M.

The Turkey Trot Stakes drew eight entries including a pair trained by John Servis. “Both are running, and all the horses running that day are doing great,” commented Servis. Stablemates Adero and Irish Cork compete for the $75,000 purse in the one mile and seventy event. Post time is 3:14 P.M.

The tenth race, the Let’s Give Thanks Stakes drew ten entries for the six and a half furlong race for three year olds and up. Post time is 4:08 P.M.

The spotlight is also on two year olds at Penn National on Thanksgiving eve. Post time for their Thanksgiving eve card is 5:45 P.M. Race four on the card, the $50,000 Blue Mountain Stakes for two year old fillies going six furlongs, drew a field of seven. Favorites include Keystone State who has a perfect record with two wins from two starts, and Tap Into Grace with two wins and one third in three starts. Parx trainer, Uriah St. Lewis sends out Savor It with earnings of $54,000 and one win, one second, and one third. Post time is 7:12 P.M.

South Mountain: Bootleg Runner

The South Mountain Stakes, for two year olds going six furlongs with a purse of $50,000, drew ten entries. Favorite, Tough Guy Tony, trained by Parx trainer, Butch Reid, drew post position eight. He has two wins from four starts and was fourth in the Nashua Stakes. He is 5/2 in the early odds. Live Stream, at 8/1 in the early odds, won two races including one stake win at Presque Isle Downs. His best races were on synthetic surfaces. Post time is 7:41.

Racing at Parx and Penn National on Thanksgiving eve showcases the top juveniles in the state. Penn Horse Racing offers free PP’s for each track, and race fans have the opportunity to watch top notch stakes racing at both tracks.
